About the Role
WeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and families, committed to evidence-based practice, and able to contribute to a warm and supportive therapeutic environment.
You will play an important role in helping clients build independence, improve daily functioning, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assessment & Intervention
-
Conduct comprehensive assessments in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, handwriting, daily living skills, and behaviour related to occupational performance.

Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each child’s needs.

Use evidence-based approaches to support skill development and functional outcomes.
2. Therapy Sessions
-
Deliver engaging, structured, and goal-oriented therapy sessions.

Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Provide parent/caregiver education and home strategies to reinforce therapy goals.
3. Collaboration
-
Work closely with clinicians, special needs educators, and other members of the team to ensure holistic support for clients.

Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions, reviews, and team meetings.

Communicate professionally and compassionately with families and caregivers.
- To be involved in the Early Intervention Program with other team members
4. Documentation & Administration
-
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes and reports.

Prepare assessment summaries, progress updates, and recommendations.

Ensure compliance with professional and organizational standards.
5. Professional Development
-
Stay updated with current OT practices, research, and interventions.

Participate in training, workshops, or supervision sessions provided by WeCare.
Requirements

Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.

Registered with MAHPC and/or MOTA.

Strong interest in pediatric therapy and working with neurodiverse populations.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate, patient, and able to build rapport with children and families.

Responsible, ethical, and committed to high professional standards.

Experience in pediatric therapy (clinical or placement).

Familiarity with sensory integration, handwriting programs, behavioural strategies, or developmental frameworks.

Ability to create structured and engaging therapy activities.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
