Ummi Norliyana Zainal

Liyana completed her Master in Clinical Psychology at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and had experiences working with psychiatric, neurological, substance abuse and rehabilitation cases during her training years. She was trained to conduct a psychotherapy session that allows her clients to express themselves and will form a collaborative relationship with them.

She’s strong advocacy in Islamization of Psychology and passionate in incorporating the role of human’s spiritual intelligence in her therapy. This has prompted her in striving to become a secure base for her clients to treat their struggle with the approach of bio-psycho-social-spiritual model. She is dedicated to facilitating her clients to have more adaptive ways of dealing with important life issues.

Liyana had also completed ABA Level 1 training and had experienced using a behavioural approach to help children with ADHD and Autism as their therapist and shadow aide. As a Clinical Psychologist, she believes that diagnosis is a tool to drive effective treatment and not to label someone. She wishes to create more awareness of the importance of mental health and to make the services accessible to all group of people.
